Oh man! I wanted to like this movie. But like the first movie, I wasn’t feeling it. Here’s a quick recap and my two cents 😉

Quick Recap

Emma’s career and Paolo’s new store aren’t doing well. Then Paolo wants to move back to Italy. How will Emma and Paolo overcome these new challenges?

My Two Cents

Uggghhhh! I don’t know what it is about this series, but I can’t get into it. Aside from the third movie (The Wedding Veil Legacy), I haven’t really been enjoyed the others too much. I think I liked Legacy because I really like Alison’s character and her leading man.

Don’t get me wrong…I love Autumn and Lacey! They are amazing women and they do well in these roles. I’m just not into these movies. I’d rather be sitting here reading my current book or watching something like Love on the Sidelines.

I’m hoping the next movie will be more my speed, since I liked Alison’s first one. But I also suspect one of the reasons I’m not a huge fan is because these ladies are already in love and married. Anything after this is just drama to have drama. I’m not that kind of girl.

I know there will be people who love this movie. There are a ton of people who love this whole franchise. Sadly, I’m not one of them. If you’ve liked the other movies, you will probably enjoy it. If you haven’t, then don’t waste your time.

Hallmark Movie Review: The Wedding Veil Expectations

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I hadn’t seen all three wedding veil movies until today, but now I’m fully up to date! So, here’s a quick recap and my two cents 😉

Quick Recap

There are several plots in this movie. Avery is pregnant. Avery has a new boss, Mason, who is taking the museum in a different direction. And Peter’s mom was holding the veil and ran into her ex-boyfriend, who she begins dating again.

My Two Cents

It was a super busy Saturday morning, but luckily this afternoon was super quiet and I was able to catch up on The Wedding Veil series before tonight’s premier. I liked them, but the final movie with Alison Sweeney was my favorite of the original trilogy.

I’m not sure how I feel about this veil movie. It’s a nice continuation of the veil story, but I’m not sure I would go out of my way to watch it. There were a few things I really liked though.

We almost never have movies where the actress is pregnant. I absolutely loved all the pregnancy symptoms. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I had the sense of smell issue. I absolutely couldn’t stand the smell of garlic and I was severely nauseous. So, I totally sympathize with Avery!

I also loved every time Emma and Tracy visited Avery. I wish they all lived in the same city and were together more often. These three leading ladies together are amazing!

And then there was Mason. Oh my goodness, I wanted to throttle him! I loved when Tracy, Emma, and Avery ran into him together in front of the veil. I was hoping they would all take care of him and dispose of his body. 😉

I’d probably give this movie a 3.5. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t love it. If you were a big fan of the original veil movies, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy this more than me. I enjoyed it about as much as I enjoyed the first movie.

Movie Review: A Glenbrooke Christmas

Rating:
3.5/5

Oh Autumn Reeser! You’re one of my Hallmark favs, but this movie didn’t do it for me. I know this is kind of cliche, but it’s not you, it’s…Antonio Cupo (Kyle). Haha! I bet you thought I was going to say “me,” but nope. I wasn’t a fan of Kyle.

Autumn plays Jessica “Emerson” Morgan, a soon-to-be CEO of a large real estate company. Her parents died when she was young and her Grandfather raised her. She decides to go to Glenbrooke where her mom lived when she was younger. She’s even able to rent the house her mom lived in, but she’s using the name Jessica Emerson instead of her famous Morgan last name to try and stay under the radar.

Upon arriving in Glenbrooke, Jessica almost runs over Kyle, Glenbrooke Fire Chief, while he’s carrying a whole stack of ginger bread men. Kyle’s coworker, Ruthie dubs this the Gingerpocalypse 😂 This was possibly the funniest part of the movie! It’s also the part where I started losing interest.

Kyle is such a jerk to Jessica over the cookies breaking that it was an immediate turn off for me. She even offered to pay for the cookies, but he blames her and starts accusing her of texting while driving and not paying attention. Jerk alert!! It doesn’t make sense that he can be a total jerk over something so small and a Fire Chief. I would think that position requires more political common sense and friendliness.

Kyle’s coworker, Ruthie was actually my favorite person in the movie. Besides the gingerpocalypse, she also guides Jessica to a “VIP” section of a tree lot. It’s the VIP section, because Kyle is there. She totally set-up Kyle and Jessica on that one! Jessica’s face when she figured it out was priceless. LOL.

Once in Glenbrooke, Jessica discovers the chimes – a local cherished landmark – are broken and they need $10,000 to save them. Jessica helps create a fundraiser to save them.

I also struggled with this. Jessica is a multi-millionaire. $10,000 is a drop in the hat. Why not just anonymously donate the money and be done? Don’t get me wrong, she really helped a lot of people in the community while organizing the fundraiser and they kind of explain why she doesn’t write a check for it a little later in the movie, but it didn’t sit right with me.

Kyle somewhat redeems himself and shows his nice/caring side during other parts of the movie when him and Jessica decorate a Christmas tree together, go to a party together, and read The Night Before Christmas to some children. But even in the end, Kyle is upset and jerky when he learns the truth about who Jessica really is.

I don’t know if it’s Antonio or Kyle, but I wasn’t digging him. Watch the movie and let me know what you think! While you’re watching, be sure to catch the sweet story about how the bells came to be such an important part of the town. I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but it’s really sweet.

If you’re an Autumn Reeser fan too, check out one of her other great movies! I highly recommend A Country Wedding, Christmas Under the Stars, or All Summer Long. These were all much better than this one! Happy movie watching y’all!
