Hallmark Movie Review: Love, Classified

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“Not all romance stories are flawless.” That’s because the flawless romance stories are boring! Lets face it, we all love a little drama before our happily ever after. Luckily, this movie isn’t flawless or boring. Well done Hallmark! Here’s a quick recap and my full two cents. 😉

Quick Re-Cap

In the town of Pennfield, a Classified app has taken the town by storm. People anonymously post any type of classified and other people respond. The classified app helps bring Emilia’s family together when she returns to Pennfield for a book signing. While home, she tries to repair her relationship with her estranged children, Taylor, and Zach.

My Two Cents

First things first. Fan girl freak out…OMG! Cameo alert!! Did you see who was bar tending?! PAUL CAMPBELL!!! I love when Hallmark throws in an amazing cameo! THANK YOU!!

Okay, now back to your regularly scheduled review…

Sometimes movies with multiple loves stories becomes overwhelming with too many moving parts. Hello The Christmas House. However, this time Hallmark straddled that line splendidly.

I loved how Emilia started a second chance romance (always my favorite trope), Taylor started dating her mother’s heart doctor (lesbian romance), and Zach met Margot (traditional romance). Each love connection was fun and unique. I’m also super glad they didn’t pursue the final love connection with Frankie’s friend until the very end of the movie where they just mention the possibility of a love match. Had they brought it in earlier, it would have been too much.

To me, love is love. If you watch my good reads profile, you’ll see I read everything. So, it shouldn’t surprise you that I’ll watch all types of romance too. If lesbian/gay romance is not your cup of tea, then this isn’t the right movie for you. That’s okay, keep moving forward. There are plenty of other movies out there!

Besides the multiple romance stories, I loved the whole cast! They were all engaging and amazing. Melora Hardin and Steve Bacic are probably the most famous cast members, but Taylor caught my eyes and ears. I kept sitting here thinking, “Man, I know that voice and face!” but I couldn’t quite place her with the blonde hair. I double checked her filmography and saw she was Clary (red headed main character) from Shadowhunters!! I knew I knew that voice! I loved that show 🙂

This was a solid movie for me. In truth, I would give it a 4.5, but since I don’t give half stars, I’m bumping it to a 5. I don’t think this movie will have the broad appeal that other romances have due to the varied tropes, but I really enjoyed it. Even Jeff laughed a bunch of times. 😲 Give this one a try if you think it sounds interesting.

  1. The writing was pretty well done, per Hallmark’s usual formula, and the cast was amazing. However, you did ask what we think…

Hallmark continues to follow their Woke agenda (where more than 50% of sexual relationships are now mixed race and black women are apparently not all that attractive or lovable), indoctrinating the public to think of Alt relationships as normal, straying farther away from straight relationships. Most concerning, and central to this story, was the premise that it’s okay for a lesbian cardiologist to conceal her gender on a dating app to lure straight women into her bed. Turn it around and have a straight man luring lesbian women into a sexual relationship they weren’t seeking and the outcry would be tremendous (imagine the reaction if Hallmark “converted” a gay person). Double down by sensationalizing the women’s kisses, making them longer and more passionate than any heterosexual couple has been depicted in the past. I wasn’t impressed by the social engineering. Sexual identity isn’t as fluid or easily changed as social engineers would have us believe, and continuing to marginalize healthy male/female relationships isn’t a healthy long-term strategy for society, or Hallmark in my estimation. Most viewers probably tune in for loving, romantic stories, not to be lied to and manipulated into a Woke state of being, where the 1% case is increasingly and falsely presented as the norm, and sexual manipulation is okay if it’s done by a lesbian with an impressive job.

    1. You’re right! I asked 🙂 I also knew this would be a love it or hate it movie. I believe this is why GAC Family has stood up a channel and many of our favorite actresses are going to have movies playing there in the future.

  2. It was a delightful surprise to see Paul Campbell in a Cameo! I have missed him lately. Such a consummate actor as he is can capture a scene with minimal words and facial expressions. Can’t wait to see him again in a starring role!

  3. If you are looking for a movie about Lesbian, you have found the right movie. If you want a love story about two people with traditional moral standards, this is not the movie for you. I am very disappointed that Hallmark is airing showing with Lesbian love stories.

  4. i disagree we need more like this bot just all hetersex hallmark movies i love the movie better then the plain ole bulls——

  5. Well, here’s some good ones that aren’t exploitive anyway…see em or not, it’s YOUR life;
    . An Unexpected Love
    . The Truth About Jane
    . What Makes A Family
    . Two Mother’s For Zachary
    . My Two Loves
I’ve watched all these movies and enjoyed them immensely! They were realistic, sensitive and not the least bit exploitive of women.

  6. WOOPS! Sorry, there should have been a dot after MY TWO LOVES, to show that it was the last movie recommendation on my list.
As read ABOVE, it looks like part of a run on sentence which makes absolutely no sense. I regret that.

  7. I loved the movie love, classified because it was so real beautifully written and the actors and actresses set it off and thank you for a great movie….😊
