My first review of 2024! In case you’re curious, I tried last week’s movie, Love on the Right Course, but I didn’t make it through the whole movie; it wasn’t for me. However this week’s A Scottish Love Scheme was perfect for me on a cold Sunday morning. Here’s a quick recap and my two cents 😉

Quick Recap

Lily quits her marketing job with her ex-husband and takes a trip to Scotland with her mother to visit some family friends before continuing to Seville, France for a 6 month photography course. While in Scotland, she connects with Logan and his son. Logan is in need of a marketing guru to help him out of a tight spot with his family’s business and the two work together on a project for a new line of whiskey.

My Two Cents

It’s New Year New You! I love starting a new year with leads who are chasing their dreams and going after their passions. After all, isn’t that what we all want in life? Love. And New Year New You movies, are all about finding your love both romantically and career-wise. A Scottish Love Scheme does this very well!

**Fair warning, you might need a box of tissues for this movie. For as wonderful as it is, there’s a bit of sadness to it too. Also, there will be some spoilers in this review.**

The scenery in this movie is beautiful! It makes me want to go to Scotland and tour the countryside. Maybe it’s because I have a freezing cold winter wonderland outside and the movie has a lot of greenery and people not bundled with so many clothes they can barely move. 🤣

The scenery wasn’t the best part of the movie though. I loved the plot with Lily going on a trip with her mom and helping Logan save his business. She’s able to use her skills to help a friend while on her way to chase her dreams.

I could have done without the side plot of her mom dying – it really pulled on my heart. It’s no secret I’m more romcom than sappy movie watcher. But every now and then, finding a good tear jerker is needed. This is one I wouldn’t mind watching again should the mood arise.

If you’re in the mood for a sweet romance that fills your heart in all the right places, definitely give this movie a try. Keep that box of tissues close and be prepared for the last 30 minutes. Lily and her mom’s trip down memory lane had me bawling. Ugh! I’m such a sap! Add in Lily’s happily ever after and I feel complete and ready to take on the world this week 🙂

If you have a chance, try this movie! Let me know what you thought! Leave a comment!

Oh happy tears! I will always have a special place in my heart for movies like this! Here’s a quick re-cap and my full two cents on this sweet Hallmark Christmas romance.

Quick Re-Cap

Nicky returns home to celebrate Christmas with her family and finds an anonymous note from someone in high school. She begins a journey to figure out who the mystery writer was.

My Two Cents

Yes Hallmark! You did it! This movie has the feeling of other Hallmark classics I love to watch over and over. Movies like Switched for Christmas, A Christmas Detour (yes, I’m aware that’s two Candace Cameron Bure movies), A Very Merry Mix-up, or Most Wonderful Time of the Year.

These movies are often underrated and some people write them off as not good enough, but honestly, they are some of my favorites. You can turn them on at any point and enjoy watching them. They are generally happy movies with a little bit of romcom humor. Most importantly they make me warm and fuzzy.

Grab a cup of hot chocolate, your favorite movie watching blanket and snuggle in for this wonderfully feel good movie. Enjoy the little jokes here and there and take it at face value. This movie is definitely a countdown to Christmas must see!
