Hallmark Movie Review: Never Been Chris’d

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My reverse harem reading self was slightly hoping this would turn into a ménage à trois movie. But that’s definitely a little too risqué for sweet Hallmark. As disappointing as that is, this movie is anything but disappointing! Here’s a quick recap and my two cents 😉

Quick Recap

Liz and Naomi had high school crushes on the popular guy Chris Silver. He had so many girl friends, that they use to call his love conquests “Chris’d.” Now they’re back home for the holidays and continue to run into their hotter than ever high school crush. Will one or both of them become Chris’d?

My Two Cents

My favorite movie I’ve watched so far this season! It’s lighthearted, funny, and surprisingly deep (if you want it to be). And even though it wasn’t Hallmark’s first ménage à trois movie, it was still entertaining!

Initially it looked like this movie would provide more cat fighting over Chris, but instead it focused more on Naomi and Liz’s relationship, which I truly felt. It’s hard growing up with your best friend and at the end of high school you either part ways and go to different Universities or stay together.

Both decisions come with potential issues. For Naomi and Liz those potential issues come to a head. And they need to determine how their relationship will evolve to overcome their challenges. I loved how this story line played out!

Then there was Chris. Not gonna lie, he isn’t my favorite Hallmark character. I really didn’t like how he lied about being vegan. Did we ever receive an explanation for it?! I didn’t feel like we did and I didn’t understand what purpose the lie served?

Despite Chris not being my favorite character, I still really enjoyed the movie. Maybe Hallmark will do a sequel where Naomi and Chris breakup and Chris and Liz start something, but then they break it off and both Naomi and Liz find someone better? It could be fun Hallmark! You can call it Better than Chris’d 🙂

If you have a chance, try this movie. It’s a fun way to spend a quiet evening without tears. Haha. Let me know what you thought! Leave a comment!

Hallmark Movie Review: Coyote Creek Christmas

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’m a total Paevey lover! He is so handsome and plays this role expertly. Who wouldn’t have fallen for those blue eyes and that little bit of gray he’s showing on his temples. 😉 I’m also a huge Janel Parrish fan!! I’ve liked her ever since Pretty Little Liars. Now Ryan + Janel in the same movie. Yes please! Here’s a quick re-cap and my full two cents.

Quick Re-Cap

Paige is spending Christmas at her family’s Coyote Creek Inn. She’s planning the annual Christmas party, because her family doesn’t feel like doing it this year. She’s unaware that her family is considering selling the Inn until she’s been planning for a while and see how happy her parents are traveling instead of running the Inn. Dylan’s company is interested in purchasing the Inn, but he’s been asked to keep it secret from Paige.

My Two Cents

There were a lot of things I enjoyed about this movie! I already mentioned that these are two of my favorite leads, but I didn’t mention the outstanding supporting cast! I loved Quinn and Mia crushing, George and Julie being mischievous fun-loving characters, and Noah was so adorable! I haven’t seen such a good supporting cast in a long time!

Besides the cast was the Coyote Creek-isms. Charlotte the Marmot is sooo cute!! I love that a place called Coyote Creek has a marmot as a mascot. C’mon who doesn’t like a game of hide and seek with a wooden statue? I know I want to find Charlotte and give her a piece of Christmas clothing! Plus, the story about how a marmot became the town mascot was so sweet.

I think I’ve mentioned a time or two that I enjoy a good small town romance. This kind of had that feel, because we met a few townspeople. There were also a lot of small town traditions, like leaving little gifts for people.

While I enjoyed most of this movie, there was a major part of this plot I didn’t understand. The Inn wasn’t sold yet and Paige’s parents didn’t NEED to sell, so why didn’t they offer to stop the sale? If Paige really wanted it, then they should have been able to work out a deal with her and stop the sale.

The sale of the Inn was really the biggest issue I had with this movie. If I look past that, then I really enjoyed this movie. I’m not sure if I’d put it on my must see list, but if it’s on again, I’ll definitely watch it. Especially to see Charlotte the Marmot again. 🙂 I hope you watch this and enjoy it. Happy movie watching y’all!

Hallmark Movie Review: Right in Front of Me

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’m a die hard Pretty Little Liars fan, which by proxy makes me a Janel Parrish fan 🙂 I was dying to see Janel in a RomCom role and I’m super happy she didn’t disappoint. She’s adorable!

Now that you know about my girl crush on Janel, we need to talk about her movie costar. Who is Marco Grazzini and why haven’t I noticed him before? He was super cute in this movie. His role was perfect and I hope Hallmark pairs these two again!

Movie Re-cap

Carly (Janel) is a Bridal Stylist – not to be confused with a wedding planner. Say what? I didn’t know a thing like this existed. A bridal stylist ensures everyone wearing a dress or tux is wearing something they love and look great in, but she doesn’t get involved in the wedding details or designing the wedding itself.

Nick (Marco) is the chef at the hotel Carly is spending the weekend relaxing at with her friend.

Unbeknownst to Carly, there is a wedding happening at said hotel and the women she went to college with are all there for the wedding. Carly winds up helping the bride with some stylist tips and is invited to the wedding and wedding activities.

Carly finds out her college crush, Matt, is also in town for the wedding. While Carly explores what could have been she also finds out what could be with Nick.

My Two Cents

For the second week in a row, Hallmark hits the spot with a movie that you can turn on and watch any time. There’s nothing new or different about this movie. It’s a classic Hallmark RomCom, but these two have good chemistry and the movie is cute.

There were a lot of parts I enjoyed, but my favorite was probably when Carly convinced Nick and Matt to do the chicken wing challenge. While the two men were practically in tears from the heat of the wings, Carly gloatingly consumed hers to beat the challenge. This was so great!

Oh and Nick remembering to include the tiny fork with Carly’s dessert? Be still my heart! Men like this are keepers! They will always want to make you happy and they will remember these little things that make you happy. When you find a man like this, you hold on tight 🙂

This isn’t going to be one of those movies that you love so much you tell every person you know, but it will be one of those movies you are happy to watch and re-watch when ever you can. I hope you give this a try and enjoy it! Happy movie watching y’all.
